Reuben Castle Beach was the youngest of the fourteen children of Michael and Lucy (Davis) Beach. Named for his paternal uncle, he was born in Highland on May 10, 1843. He married July 3, 1868, Mary Jane "Jennie" Johnson of Clyde, the daughter of Lyman and Delia D. (Baker) Johnson, and soon after moved to Argentine, Genesee County, Michigan. He later resided in Elmwood, Tuscola County, Michigan, before moving to Venice, Los Angeles County, California where he dealt in real estate prior to his death in July, 1926.
