B. Franklin Leonard farmed 80 acres of the Jonathan Clark Leonard homestead, keeping a herd of 16 Holstein dairy cattle and other livestock. His farm was added to the list of pioneer farms recognized by the Michigan Historical Association in July of 1956. In 1947 he built this barn on the west side of Milford Road, just north of his home, which soon became a landmark for passing motorists.
