The first Clyde School (District No. 3) was located almost a mile east of town, on the north side of White Lake Road near the intersection of modern day Highland Hills Drive. In the late 1800's, however, a new school was built closer to the Village of Clyde, on the northeast corner what is today the intersection of Milford, Harvey Lake and White Lake Roads. This photo shows that building looking north from White Lake Road. After consolidation of the rural schools in the 1940's, the former Clyde School was used for many years as an Odd Fellows hall. Still standing, it now serves the needs of local children as a day care/pre-school.
