Another photo taken at the same time as that previous.  The ice houses remained in operation until May, 1929, when they were completely destroyed by fire.  The dormitory was also destroyed, together with the previous winter's harvest of ice. Since General Electric had begun selling its popular "Monitor-top" refrigerator in 1927, the eventual decline of the domestic ice business was apparent and the plant was never rebuilt.
