Classes continued to be held in the replacement Hickory Ridge school until the early 1940's, after which students were bused to the Highland Township School at Highland Station.  In 1946 the frame school building was itself moved to Highland Station where it was attached to the south side of the Highland Methodist Church for use a social hall; seen here in the center of this photograph.  After renovation of the church for use as the Highland Township Library in the 1980's it housed the circulation desk and lounge area, and still remains today (2009) as part of the Highland Station House complex.
