Another view of the Highland School, looking north-northeast.   The school originally consisted of a single room, with three windows on each side.   As can be seen in this photo, however, a second, smaller room was added to the rear (north) side circa 1880.  Known as the "Little Room," this housed the younger children, while the older students occupied the original "Big Room."
