William H. Case was born in December, 1868, the son of Eleazor S. and Maria (Bowman) Chase of Rose Township, Oakland County, Michigan. He married October 26, 1890, Clara Alvina Sears, who was born December 16, 1871, the daughter of Lysander S. and Cornelia (Mead) Sears of Livingston County, Michigan. The couple lived for a time in Rose Township before moving to Highland Township sometime prior to 1900. Here they purchased a small farm on the east side of Milford Road, just north of Wardlow Road (across from what is now Apollo Elementary School). The photo below shows some of the farm's barns and outbuildings.
