In the late 1930's the portion of Livingston Road which ran in front of the Davison-Armstrong farm was widened, paved and incorporated into State Highway M-59, forcing the demolition of the original 1840's barn. In its place, Clarence T. Armstrong and his son, Roland Armstrong, built this new barn in 1936.
