Charles E. Needham married June 30, 1920, at Hartland, Michigan, Florence Beatrice Arthur. She was born December 24, 1899, the daughter of George and Effie (Petty) Arthur of Hartland. The couple had two children: (i) Arthur Franklin Needham, born in 1921; and (ii) Mary Ellen Needham, born in 1923. Just two weeks after the birth of her daughter, however, Florence (Arthur) Needham died on March 11, 1923, at the age of just 23.
