BACK TO THE FAMILY PHOTO ALBUM PAGE Taking over the farm after his parents moved to Highland Station, Harry O. Ruggles added to his holdings in both Highland and across Rowe Road in Milford Township; eventually owning over 300 acres. His farm included 30 acres of orchard, a "muck garden" near Indian Lake, a "sand garden" with overhead irrigation and a herd of registered Hereford cattle. Agriculture classes from Milford High School would take field trips to the Ruggles farm to study and observe its varied operations. Harry O. Ruggles is seen here standing before a steam traction engine. |
