Original Highland Township Landowner Elijah G. (Y.) Fraser SW 1/4 of SW 1/4 of Section 36 Nothing is known of this man beyond his name and the fact his patent gives his residence as Monroe County, New York. First Land Owners of Oakland County gives his middle initial as "Y.," but his actual patent shows it to be "G." and it is so indexed by the Bureau of Land Management - Government Land Office web site. He may be the same as the Elijah "Frazier," age 38, on the 1850 Census for Pittsford, Monroe County, New York. There is no evidence he ever settled on his purchase in Highland Township.
