Original Highland Township Landowner Benjamin Fuller Little is known about this man beyond his name and the fact his patent gives his residence as Genesee County, New York. Note that a Benjamin Fuller appears on the 1830 Census for China, Genesee County, New York, age 50 and under 60. This man must not be confused with either Benjamin Fuller or his son, Benjamin Fuller, Jr., who were early settlers in what is now Southfield, Oakland County, Michigan. That family came from Vermont circa 1825 and both father and son appear on the 1830 Census for Oakland County, Michigan - some six years before Benjamin Fuller of Genesee County, New York, made his purchase in Highland Township. |
