Original Highland Township Landowner Stephen Hovey This is likely the Stephen Hovey who settled in Rose Township, Oakland County, Michigan, where he was elected a constable at the first Rose township meeting in 1837. An Alexander Hovey appears on the 1840 Census for Highland Township, age 20-30, who is possibly a son. Note also the Stephen Hovey, age 34, on the 1850 Census for Vienna, Genesee County, Michigan, who may be another son. |
