Original Highland Township Landowner Lucina Leonard E 1/2 of SE 1/4 of Section 9 W 1/2 of SW 1/4 of Section 10 Lucina Leonard was June 22, 1808, at Parma, Monroe County, New York, the daughter and oldest child of Capt. Jonathan and Persis (Hencher) Leonard. She married September 4, 1845, Giles Burritt Cropsey. While several of her brothers came to Michigan and settled in Highland Township, she and other members of the family appear to have purchased land here solely as an investment. |
