Original Highland Township Landowner James William (J. W.) Lockwood James William Lockwood was born August 12, 1823, at New London, Columbia County, New York, the son of Ira and Margaret (Crawford) Lockwood. He married first, May 7, 1853, Lucretia Corwin, and married second, in 1860, Annie Dunham, daughter of Jacob S. and Catherine (_____) Dunham. James William Lockwood served in Company G, 1st Michigan Light Artillery, and was mustered out September 5, 1864. He died at Highland Township, Oakland County, Michigan on April 18, 1905. |
