Original Highland Township Landowner Jonathan C. Parish Nothing is known about this man beyond his name and the fact his patent gives his residence as Monroe County, New York. First Land Owners Of Oakland County says that Oakland County Records give Parish's date of purchase as May 13, 1836. He may be the same as the Jonathan Parish, Jr. whose will was probated at Greece, Monroe County, New York, on June 16, 1840. A Jonathan Parish was likewise elected a constable in the town of Gates, Monroe County, in 1812.
