Original Highland Township Landowner Reuben L. Parsons Little is known about this man beyond his name and the fact his patent gives his residence as Monroe County, New York. First Land Owners of Oakland County gives his middle initial as "S" but Bureau of Land Management - General Land Office records give it as "L." The handwriting on the original patent is ambiguous. He may be the same as the Reuben S. Parsons who appears on the 1840 Census for Brighton, Monroe County, New York. If so, then it would appear he never settled on his purchase in Highland Township. |
