Original Highland Township Landowner John Weakley (Wakely) E 1/2 of NE 1/4 of Section 20 Little is known about this man beyond his name and the fact his patents gives his residence as Washtenaw County, Michigan. His patents spell his last name as "Weakley," but it seems likely he is the John "Wakely" who appears on the 1840 Census for Highland Township, and may be the same as the John "Wakely" who appears on an 1844 list of residents of Oceola Township, Livingston County, Michigan. |
