Section 24 Little is known about these people beyond their names and the fact their respective patents give their residence as New York City, New York. It is not even certain all three are related, although the circumstantial evidence strongly suggests this is so. In addition to their common last names and residences, all three made their purchases on October 26, 1836 [See note]. Their purchases are likewise all located in reasonable proximity in the east portion of the township. There is no evidence, however, that any of these people ever actually settled in Highland Township. Note - First Land Owners of Oakland County says Thomas Wilson made his purchase on October 28, 1836, but indicates that Oakland County Records give the date as October 26. The latter is probably correct since it corresponds to the purchase dates of Martha and Lilly A. Wilson.
