With the opening of Highland Elementary School on West Livingston Road, both kindergarten and elementary school classes were transferred there. The old Highland Township School became Highland Junior High School (now Highland Middle School) and the Kindergarten Cottage was used for a time as a community counseling center. It was eventually acquired by the Huron Valley Schools Credit Union (now Kensington Valley Credit Union) and renovated. The photo below shows how it appeared in the 1990's. It has since been greatly expanded such that the outlines of the original building are difficult to see.
