Meanwhile, in May, 1980, the original church building was purchased by Highland Township. Aided by Community Development Block Grants, and under the guidance of architect Gordon Merritt, the additions at the rear of the building were enlarged and the entire structure renovated for use by the Highland Township Public Library.
