After the township's offices were moved to their new location in 1953, the Fire Department had exclusive use of the old Town Hall. By the mid-1960's, however, it had outgrown that building. Thus, in 1969, work began on a new Fire Station No. 1 on the north side of West Livingston Road, just west of John Street. The photo below was taken at the new station's dedication on January 23, 1971.
