This house stands on the southeast corner of Livingston Road and John Street and was once the home of Dr. Ora Manly, an early Highland physician. Born in 1854, Dr. Manly attended the University of Michigan medical school, graduating in 1873. After practicing in White Lake, Davisburg and his native Deerfield, he and his wife Sarah came to Highland circa 1908, moving into the Enos St. John house. Around 1913 the couple left to live in Pontiac, but returned to Highland the following year and soon purchased this home from Elizabeth Bird. Here they lived until Dr. Manly's death in 1928. In later years the dwelling was home to Henry and Grace Marshall, whose daughter Ruth fondly remembers growing up in the home.
