Bertha and Archie St. John were charter members of the church. Bertha, the daughter of Thomas Love and Katherine (Kinney) Cranston was born in Irving, Michigan, on December 28, 1872, and died at her home in Highland on June 10, 1948. On July 2, 1890, she married Archibald W. St. John, who lived from 1870 to 1962. They had eight children.
