This early photo shows Livingston Road looking west from Centre Street (Milford Road). At the time Highland had no need for a gas station, since there were few, if any, cars. That had all changed, however, by the time Asa and Jeanie Smith came to Highland in 1928, the year after their marriage, and occupied the home pictured here at the far right.
