"Tom's Place" was later owned and operated Wilfred and Elsie Copplestone.  The store had undergone considerable change and expansion by the time this photo was taken in the fall of 1950.  It was later painted blue, called the "Cobblestone" store, and continued to serve the local community until the early 1980's, when it was torn down to make way for the widening of M-59.   A modern BP-Amoco station now occupies this corner of old Highland Corners.
