Original Highland Township Landowner Origen D. Richardson Origen D. Richardson was born July 20, 1795, at Woodstock, Vermont, and settled at Pontiac, Oakland County, Michigan, in 1826. A lawyer, Richardson was Oakland County prosecutor from 1830 to 1836 and a member of the Michigan House of Representatives in 1835 and 1841. He was elected Lieutenant Governor in 1841 and re-elected in 1843, serving under Governor John S. Barry. In 1854, he moved to Omaha, Nebraska, and served as a member of the Legislative Council in the first and second sessions of the Nebraska Territorial Legislature.
