Following their marriage, Ulysses and Edith (Huff) Beach initially lived in Fairgrove, Tuscola County, Michigan, where Ulysses worked as station agent at the local depot. Here their first child was born, Louise Helen Beach, on February 11, 1903. Two months later, however, the couple returned to Highland to live with Davis Beach and manage the parental farm. Their next two children were thus born at Maple Grove, i.e, son Ulysses Sidney Beach, Jr., born June 12, 1904, and daughter Clara Mae Beach, born August 26, 1906. The photo below was taken circa 1907 and shows (from left to right), Louise Helen Beach, Clara Mae Beach, Edith (Huff) Beach and Ulysses Sidney Beach, Jr.
