After selling Maple Grove around 1910, Davis Beach spent the next several years living in hotels in Highland, Milford, Fenton and Holly. He thereafter alternated between living with his son and daughter. He died on June 29, 1924, at the home of his son Ulysses at the ripe old age of 89 and was buried beside his wife and parents in Highland Cemetery.
