Herman Kunkel, the second child, died on May 16, 1925, followed just ten days later by his sister, Ida (Kunkel) Cornell, who died May 26, 1925. The photograph below shows nine of the ten remaining siblings who attended their sister's funeral. Standing (left to right): Amos Kunkel, Martin Kunkel, William Kunkel, Otto Kunkel and Arthur Kunkel. Seated (left to right): Betha (Kunkel) Carpenter, Emma (Kunkel) Harris, Lena (Kunkel) Schwenson and Ernstena "Tena" (Kunkel) Newton. Not present was brother Henry Kunkel, who lived in Montana.
