Jonathan Clark Leonard married January 1, 1860, Amelia E. Haff, the daughter of Edwin and Asenath (Newton) Haff. The couple would have six children, i.e.: (i) Edwin A. Leonard; (ii) Mark J. Leonard; (iii) Nelson L. Leonard, born circa 1866; died at Detroit, July, 1927; (iv) Flora Leonard, died in infancy October 30, 1862; (v) Cora J. Leonard, born January 18, 1868; m. Charles Wesley Gordon; and (vi) Myra A. Leonard, born 1870; died January 4, 1879. At first the family lived in this frame house on the west side of Milford Road.
