On January 14, 1864, James D. Rowe married at Brownstown, Wayne County, Michigan, Helen H. Putnam, the daughter of Henry F. W. and Sarah M. (Sanderson) Putnam, seen in the photo below. She was born in 1839 and died in 1920. Her husband would survive another five years, dying at Milford on December 30, 1925.
