BACK TO THE FAMILY PHOTO ALBUM PAGE As a cooper and skilled woodworker, William Needham readily found work in the cooperage shop of the Highland Pickle Works, making the barrels and casks in which the pickles were packed. This old engraving shows the Highland Pickle Works which once stood on the south side of East Livingston Road, just east of the railroad tracks. The view is looking southeast from the intersection of East Livingston and John Streets. The cooperage shop is the building in the lower left with the tiny barrels visible in front of the open door.
