BACK TO THE FAMILY PHOTO ALBUM PAGE While her husband worked at the cooperage shop of the Highland Pickle Works, Mary Ann (Warriner) Needham began making her own pickles in the kitchen of her home. She soon found a ready market for her products among restaurants and boarding houses as far away as Ann Arbor. Her husband soon joined the fledgling business, which was appropriately named the "Domestic Pickle Works" A small factory behind the house was replaced by a larger one in 1890. This burned in 1894, but was quickly rebuilt.
