Original Highland Township Landowner Charles Armstrong SW 1/4 of Section 4 NE 1/4 of NE 1/4 of Section 9 Charles Armstrong was born March 30, 1809, at Onondaga County, New York, the son of Erastus and Roxanna (Stowell) Armstrong. It does not appear he ever settled in Highland Township since he died December 22, 1896, at Clarkson, Monroe County, New York. Note that First Land Owners of Oakland County notes that Oakland County Records give the date of purchase for the land in Section 9 as March 3, 1835. Charles Armstrong was the brother of Leroy a/k/a Lorenzo Leroy Armstrong who was also an original Highland Township landowner. |
