Original Highland Township Landowner Stillman Dexter (S.D.) Lockwood Stillman Dexter (S.D.) Lockwood was born December 25, 1821 at Parma, Monroe County, New York, the son of Theodorus W. and Clarissa (Stone) Lockwood. After his father's death his mother married second, Richard Bugbee, who was an original owner of land in Highland Township. Stillman may be the "S. A. Lockwood" on the 1840 Census for Highland and thereafter appears as "Stillman Lockwood" on the 1845 Michigan State Census for Highland, living in the household of Daniel M. Lockwood. Stillman Dexter Lockwood married first, Anjenette _____, who died December 29, 1865; married second, Laura K. Vanalstine; and married third, October 1, 1879, Sarah W. Graham. He died April 24, 1907, and is buried with his third wife in North Farmington Cemetery, Oakland County, Michigan. |
