Original Highland Township Landowner Thomas L. Vroom SE 1/4 of NW 1/4 of Scetion 12 Thomas L. Vroom was born circa 1799 and settled in White Lake Township, Oakland County, Michigan, where he purchased land in Section 6 in 1835. He thereafter appears on the 1840 Federal Census as living in White Lake. He subsequently moved to Milford Township, Oakland County, where he appears on the 1845 Michigan State Census and 1860 Federal Census. Thomas L. Vroom died August 22, 1864, while his wife, Mary, died May 5, 1883. Both are buried in White Lake Cemetery. |
