The schoolhouse serving Highland Fractional District No.2 - better known as the "Hickory Ridge School" - stood on the west side of North Hickory Ridge Road, just north of present-day Broadview Lane. Erected circa 1850 to 1860, it was one of only a handful of early buildings in the Township - and the only rural school - to be constructed entirely of local stone.
