In 1920 Sidney Hulbert sold his store to John and Lillian Atley, who thereafter operated it until November, 1945, when it was purchased by Elbert Donaldson.  He, in turn, sold the building in 1953 to Edward Womack, who ran a novelty store for several years.  Beginning in the late 1950's  Backenstose Book and Office Supply occupied the site.  By the mid-1980's, however, the building had deterioriated beyond repair and was demolished to make way for a small township park.   The photo below shows the store as it looked in the 1930's during the Atleys' ownership.
