This building is thought to be the store owned by A. D. DeGarmo which once stood on the northwest corner of Livingston Road and St. Johns Street. In 1894 the building was bought by the Highland Band Company - a group of local musicians - who used the upper floor as a practice hall. Notice the outside staircase leading to the second story. This was one of the buildings damaged by the Keller-Waterbury Store fire of 1912; seen on the right in a previous Photo [Link will open in a new window]. The fire damage was repaired and, in 1913, Frank S. Keller purchased the building for use as the new post office.
