The millworks initially started in the small white barn at the right.  A tractor belted to an overhead lineshaft provided power to operate the machinery.  As the business grew, however, the addition in the center was built in 1956 to house more machinery, now powered by electric motors.  The large warehouse at the far left was built in 1984 for hardwood lumber storage.  The sign shown in the lower photo has stood at the entrance on M-59 for many years.
