James Wardlow was struck by a falling tree and died on January 5, 1852, at age 51 years, 1 month, 10 days. No photograph of him is known. His wife, Elizabeth (McGhee) Wardlow, is pictured below. She survived her husband 35 years, dying on July 17, 1887, at age 84 years, 8 months, 2 days.
