Lockwood Clark was born August 17, 1817, the son of Ethan Allen ("E.A.") and Lovina (Lockwood) Clark.  His sister Hannah Clark was the wife of Harvey Leonard while his sister Orpha Clark was married to Stephen Armstrong; two other original Highland landowners.  Lockwood Clark came with his father to Highland circa 1835 and settled on his purchase in Section 15.  He married at Highland April 14, 1844, Mary Jane Ingall.  The couple soon after removed to Watertown, Clinton County, Michigan, where Mary Jane died in 1859.  Lockwood Clark thereafter married second Mary Abergill, who died in 1879.   Lockwood Clark served as highway commission for Watertown Township in 1870 and died there on February 11, 1893.
